Oh my goodness...how many of us can recite that phrase from childhood , even adulthood ? I can say from my experience , that I have been well versed in the area of "all talk & no do" !This was made even more apparent to me this past week...humor me while I give you some history from the week.
I received a few compliments last week , ( thanks Chuck , Sean & Deb) on my previous entry of the "Runnin' Redneck". I appreciate those very much , but quite frankly I folded under my own tent a few weeks ago & it caught up w/ me ! I am not going in to details (sorry nosey people!) , but suffice it to say , I was "called out" about giving accolades to folks.
So what am I going to do about it ? I admit it is hard for me sometimes...I only want to say nice things to certain people & not so nice things to those w/ whom I think that I can "get away w/ it".
So I confess...thanks to those that made me aware not only of what I said , but of the pressure of being a world class blogger w/ a following in the hundreds of thousands ! Ok, so I stretched it a bit !
Anyway , I say that to say this...sometimes it is "one step foward & two steps back" for me , but I am intent on improving all the while as I fail. Thanks to you whom complimented "the blog" & also thanks for constructive criticism...you know even I need it every now & then !
Proverbs 9:7-10; Anyone who rebukes a mocker will get a smart retort. Anyone who rebukes the wicked , will get hurt. So don't bother rebuking mockers; they will only hate you. But the wise; when rebuked , will love you all the more. Teach the wise, & they will be wiser. Teach the righteous & they will learn more.
